in all honesty, i would've preferred it if the water was still and calm. but oh wells. it looks all right this way too, i guess. heh (: and in any case, the wind blew incessantly at Genting. there was hardly ever a moment we weren't freezing to death thanks to the wind. the temperature was fine - but once the wind blew... *shivers*. there was a period it got so bad my teeth started chattering. xD

i always find it hard to write words to accompany my pictures (unless i'm randomly inspired, which is pretty rare :p), so i'll let the pixels do the talking, heh heh.

Try shooting it in "Tv"-mode and set the shutterspeed to like 0"3 or something, that should blur out the waves and movement of the water.. remember to keep the camera still though :)

@Celialee: this was at the theme park. it was one of the rides (: you know, the one where you paddle around in the boat thing? :D

allyy`* , couldn't agree more with your comment that you posted on my "Rushing Down the Aisle" - this internet coupled with the folks at AM3 have done a great thing...imagine that, I probably would not have been able to experience the theme park at Genting doing the "boat thing," but with internet and the AM3, I can get a glimpse of it from you! And a nice "glimpse" at that - great composition on this picture! Love the tones!

I would have loved to some one standing at the edge, just to get a prespective on the size of this structure. I think I like the motion on the water.

The motion in the water adds some welcome texture to contrast with that of the wood. A fine composition as it stands.

Awww this is nice :D Although it does remind me a little of the scene from Piranha (the movie that is) there the man has had his legs eaten :o My bad on the overeactive imagination...

On a sidenote, I love the tranquility and calmness that your pic exudes. The little ripples do add to the overall beauty of the picture :D

maybe you can try with long exposure so you get that dreamy misty watery look. I've never tried it but I've seen it. :)

@Ling: yup i know what you mean. unfortunately, i didnt bring my tripod on holiday with me, plus there wasn't any structure available to support my camera, haha! maybe next time i'll try it on some other body of water ;p

This is a good photo. It has a lot of different textures to it (the waves and the dock). The color is good. I like this shot a lot :)

I just love the colours in the shot and the off-centre composition.
I really like the white-ish metal studs that seem to form a runway...almost inviting one to run up, lift off and for a brief moment cease to be earth bound =) alternatively its like a safe harbour guiding the weary home over the choppy waters. Great capture!

Yeah a calm water would make the shot perfect. but I guess we cherish the moments when nature gives us what we want as there is nothing we can do to change the weather when we want to. Good shot though! The dock looks almost as it will soon be submerged.

I like this-even with the ripples it gives it texture. I know what you mean about calm waters though. It's nice to some to reflect what's above... Good job though! =-)

I don't know, i don't mind it that the water was not calm. The way the water is now provides a contrast between it (the water) and and the still wooden structure. The "not calm" water gives life and movement to what would have been a very still image. I like the image.
