thank you so much for your comments and suggestions in the previous post (: i feel unworthy of such nice words! really appreciate the encouragement. hope you guys can provide me more advice throughout my series as i'm quite eager to learn from my mistakes and short-commings so that my next wedding shoot will have some sort of improvement! so yup, feel free to be nasty okay? haha.
in the previous post, many of you were wondering what she was doing; well, this picture gives you the answer! haha. basically she was just sitting there, getting glam-ed up.
i tried to do a selective desat on her reflection but unfortunately that part wasn't focused, so the end result isn't exactly what i imagined it to be.
in any case, this picture brings to mind lyrics from Reflection (from the Disney cartoon, Mulan) - "who is that girl i see, staring straight back at me... why is my reflection someone i don't know?". pretty apt for this picture, no? it's not everyday you get to look so pretty, with people fussing over every little detail for you. so all you have to worry about is how to control your overflowing happiness on your big day ;)

An interesting experiment. The reflection does engage the eye.

Nice processing - love the idea of her reflection remaining in colour. Grabs the attention of the viewer.

19 Jul 2007 7:10am
@priya: nope the only editing i did with this picture was the selective desat - so it's only 1 shot :)
Beautiful shot

How did the wedding go?!
19 Jul 2007 9:52am
@alla: haha thanks, it went well (:
good concept there, nice work and effort. But the red cast seems to be overly done.. appears too strong red on my screen (or might be my screen problem though, not sure...) Perhaps a lighter...red tone might work better? :) Good try overall. keep it going!

@Anthony: i didn't notice that! whoops. thanks for pointing it out!

superb image, angle and colors
19 Jul 2007 8:22pm
I thought it looked abit ghostly :| perhaps the bride should be coloured too?
19 Jul 2007 8:41pm
@yy: as in just the bride and not the surroundings right? hmm i'll try that next time, thanks for the suggestion :D
Thats a very very nice shot...lovely work!

I'll have to agree with someone above...I'd prefer it all to be in color. Of course if the Bride was in focus then leave it the way it is. It's moments like these that come and go in the wink of an eye. Taking multiple images, at least Three and variances of DOF per shot always helps later on in post editing. And thats when one says I should have taken it this way or that way. All in all, you must have had a great day shooting. Onward. Peace.

Great PP once again, your images capture a lot of the emotion of the events, such good work
20 Jul 2007 3:44pm
You learn from me? I can learn from you! The way you portrayed this bride who is entitled to be proud of herself! Because she makes herself beautiful for her beloved husband and for all who share in her enjoyment! Beautifully pictured!
20 Jul 2007 5:34pm
Oh, I forgot! The colour/ B&W combination is splendid, the picture becomes a poem.
20 Jul 2007 5:35pm
