thanks lots for the comments and suggestions in my previous post (: i'll take note of them all. haha. once again, please feel free to give bad comments k? so that i can learn from them :D
so this is my cousin, getting her veil attached by the makeup artist cum hair stylist (: the history and symbolism of the wedding veil can be found here.
however, what i want to highlight in particular from that article is this: "The lifting of the veil was often a part of ancient wedding ritual. In many cultures, the lifting of the wedding veil symbolized the groom taking possession of the wife, either as lover or as property, or the revelation of the bride to the groom by her parents for approval."
i didn't know that. no wonder the veil is so important... so yup, just an interesting little fact of the day for you to digest!
anyways, don't you think her expression here is so... mysterious? haha. it's fun to try and guess what she's thinking. my opinion is that she's dreaming of the life she has ahead of her - a start of a new glorious chapter.

Lovely facial expression captured.
Just a thought that a closer crop to just the bride and her attendant might might make the composition more unified (unless you think that the background details are essential).

Agree with tengtan on a tighter crop. Hm..on to ur question on what is the bride thinking, maybe she is thinking how long it would take for her to get out the headgear later? :p One thought though: the thing abt capturing wedding, other than the expression on the bride and the groom, perhaps capturing the actions is meaningful too? might consider capturing the hairstylist is doing on the bride's hair , adding another dimension to the foto? :)

To crop or not to crop... I'll go for the crop! It's a marvellous expression (so much hope in the way she smiles...) and all distracting elements should be avoided. Nice one, Alicia!

I agree with you about what she's thinking of... anyway, it will not be about whether or not she will be approved by the groom :-). Great picture, I think cropping would take away the background structure which strongly puts her in the middle of the universe, where she belongs that day!
